After a long period of stand-by due to new navigation regulations, On 4th of July we organized a mini pelagic trip from the city of Lima. The boat took us to the San Lorenzo and Palomino Islands were we observe a colony of Humboldt Penguins, Red-legged Cormorants, Inca Terns and the endemic Surf Cinclodes. Then we headed for deeper waters al about 17 miles from the coast. En route to the chumming point we saw Peruvian Diving-Petrels and even a couple of Humpback Whales. During the chumming session we were able to see some Salvin’s Albatross, Pink-footed Shearwaters, White-chinned Petrels, Wilson’s and Elliot’s Storm-Petrels and Chilean Skuas. We are very excited to been able to offer this new tour to birders that visit Peru.
